Installation guide
Fit your screen in 30 to 45 minutes
Your screen arrives assembled and adjusted at the factory. All that’s left is to put it together, offer it up to the opening and fix it. No spring to tension, no cutting, no complex adjustment.
Before you start
A power drill is only needed on thick aluminium or masonry. On PVC and wood, the screws supplied go straight in.
- Assembled frame: top profile, bottom profile and side uprights
- Pre-tensioned pleated fabric, with its guide cords already set at the factory
- Assembly brackets and finishing caps
- A set of screws matched to your wall or frame type
- Printed instructions
Two ways to fit it
The 7 steps
Unpack and lay flat
Lay the whole unit flat on a clean surface, fabric facing up. Remove the protective wrapping. Never pull on the pleated fabric itself: always handle it by the profiles.
Fit the first frame profile
Slot the panel-side upright into the corner brackets, top then bottom. It should click in by hand; if it resists, the bracket isn’t aligned.
Fit the second profile with light tension
On the opposite side, apply light tension to pull the guide cords taut, then slot the upright into its brackets. This tension is what keeps the fabric flat and stops it rippling.
Test before you fix it
With the frame still free, open and close the screen two or three times across its full travel. The movement should be smooth and even, with no sticking point. If it isn’t, redo step 3.
Offer it up and set it level
Place the unit in the opening, against the frame. Check the fixed upright is plumb with a spirit level, then check the top profile is level. A frame fitted out of true is the number one cause of closing problems. Mark the fixing points in pencil.
Fix it
Remove the decorative caps from the brackets: the fixing holes appear underneath. Screw in starting with the four corners, without fully tightening, then check the level again before locking everything down. Beyond 2 m wide, add an intermediate fixing on the top and bottom profiles.
Adjust the alignment, then refit the caps
Close the screen. If the pull bar doesn’t sit perfectly parallel to the upright — a gap at the top or bottom — turn the adjustment screw in the bracket, on the side where the gap shows: a quarter turn at a time with a flat-head screwdriver, until the gap closes. Then refit the caps.
Care
Vacuum the bottom track with a brush attachment. Dust and sand built up in the track are the main cause of stiff operation.
A soft, lightly damp cloth, with the screen closed. No detergent, no abrasive sponge, no pressure washer.
Leave the screen folded into its pleat stack. Fabric left unfolded for months on end marks more easily.
