Article 1 — Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions of sale apply to all orders for made-to-measure pleated insect screens placed with VITRECO through the website.
They apply to consumer customers within the meaning of the French Consumer Code as well as to business customers, it being specified that articles 12 and 13 are reserved for consumers and article 14 for businesses.
Orders placed by a reseller from the area reserved for them are governed by the Reseller Agreement signed between the parties; these terms apply only on a subsidiary basis, for whatever that agreement does not settle.
Any order implies unreserved acceptance of these terms, in the version in force on the day of the order.
Article 2 — Seller identification
The seller’s identification details are set out in the legal notice.
Unique EPR identifiers. Pursuant to Article L. 541-10-13 of the French Environmental Code, VITRECO holds the following unique identifiers issued by ADEME: FR549276_01MRFF for household packaging and graphic paper (producer responsibility organisation Citeo) and FR549276_04YQGP for construction products and materials (producer responsibility organisation Valobat).
Article 3 — Products and essential characteristics
The products offered are pleated insect screens manufactured to the dimensions provided by the customer. The essential characteristics — range, configuration, dimensions, profile colour, mesh — are presented on the site before the order is confirmed.
The dimensions entered by the customer are the manufacturing dimensions. It is for the customer to take measurements in accordance with the measuring guide provided.
Colours shown on screen are indicative and may differ slightly from the product delivered, depending on display settings.
To be settled before publication.- The manufacturing tolerance in millimetres.
- The applicable product standard and corresponding marking: standard EN 13561 covers external blinds; its applicability to pleated insect screens must be confirmed before any mention. A standard cited in error is an inaccurate claim of conformity.
Article 4 — Prices
Prices are stated in euros including all taxes, with French VAT at 20 % included. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time the order is confirmed.
Delivery is free of charge, with no minimum order value, for consumer customers. Business customers are subject to a separate delivery charge scale.
Article 5 — Orders
The customer selects a configuration and dimensions, then reaches a summary showing the product details, the total price and the delivery terms.
Before confirming, the customer declares having read these terms and the absence of a right of withdrawal set out in article 6, by means of two separate checkboxes.
The order becomes firm and final upon receipt of payment. A confirmation email restating all the details of the order is sent to the customer.
VITRECO reserves the right to refuse any order of an abnormal nature, in particular where dimensions are manifestly erroneous.
Article 6 — No right of withdrawal (made-to-measure products)
THE FOURTEEN-DAY RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL DOES NOT APPLY TO YOUR ORDER.
VITRECO insect screens are made to the specifications you provide: the dimensions you enter determine manufacture and render the product unsuitable for any other use or resale.
Accordingly, under article L221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, you do not benefit from the right of withdrawal provided for in article L221-18 of that code. Your order cannot be cancelled or returned once confirmed and paid.
This exclusion does not affect the legal guarantees described in article 12, nor the commercial guarantee described in article 13.
This information is brought to your attention before your order is confirmed, by a checkbox separate from general acceptance of these terms. Proof of that acceptance — timestamp and version of the terms — is retained with the order.
Article 7 — Payment
Payment is made online by bank card, through the secure solution of Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, once it enters service. Card details are entered on a page hosted by Stripe and do not pass through VITRECO’s servers.
The order is payable in full on confirmation. Manufacture begins only after payment has actually been received.
In the event of rejection or non-payment, the order is cancelled by operation of law and manufacture is suspended.
To be settled before publication.- The full postal details of the payment provider, to be taken from the Stripe contract: only its name and country are established to date.
To be provided if applicable.- If instalment payment is ever offered: the identity of the finance provider, the nature of the contract and the mandatory pre-contractual information. From 20 November 2026, instalment payment falls under the consumer credit regime.
Article 8 — Manufacture, delivery and receipt
The manufacturing time is 15 working days from receipt of payment. Shipping takes a further 2–3 working days. These periods are indicative; a reasonable overrun gives no right to compensation.
VITRECO delivers to France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Orders cannot be placed for a delivery address outside these areas.
It is for the customer to check the condition of the parcel on receipt and, where applicable, to make precise and detailed reservations with the carrier, then to confirm them to VITRECO.
Under article L216-6 of the French Consumer Code, in the event of late delivery the consumer may, after formal notice has gone unheeded, terminate the contract on the conditions provided for in that text.
To be settled before publication.- The deadline for confirming reservations to VITRECO.
Article 9 — Transfer of ownership and risk
Ownership transfers upon payment of the price in full. Risk transfers upon physical delivery of the product to the customer or to a third party designated by them, other than the carrier proposed by VITRECO.
Article 10 — Liability
VITRECO cannot be held liable for the consequences of incorrect measurements taken by the customer, nor for installation not in accordance with the installation guide.
VITRECO’s liability cannot be engaged in the event of force majeure or of an unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party.
Article 11 — Personal data
The data collected is necessary for processing the order, invoicing and customer relationship management. Details of the processing operations, retention periods and your rights are set out in the privacy policy.
Article 12 — Legal guarantees (consumer customers)
Irrespective of any commercial guarantee, the seller remains liable for lack of conformity of the goods and for latent defects.
Legal guarantee of conformity: the consumer benefits from the guarantee provided for in articles L217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. They have two years from delivery to act, may choose between repair and replacement subject to the cost conditions provided by law, and are exempt from proving the defect during the twenty-four months following delivery.
Guarantee against latent defects: the consumer also benefits from the guarantee in articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, and has two years from discovery of the defect.
To be settled before publication.- The informational box whose content and form are defined by regulation must be reproduced identically. Its exact wording is to be verified.
Article 13 — Commercial guarantees
The guarantees described in this article are commercial undertakings by VITRECO. They are in addition to the legal guarantees in article 12 and in no way replace them.
Measurement Guarantee: if the product delivered does not match the dimensions ordered through VITRECO’s fault, or in the event of a customer measurement error under the conditions provided, VITRECO will remanufacture, limited to one remanufacture per order.
2-year commercial product guarantee from delivery, covering the whole product: profiles, guide rails, mechanism, cords, plastic parts and pleated insect mesh. It does not apply where the mesh shows a visible sign of external physical action, such as an impact, tear, puncture, cut or deformation caused by such action. Normal wear and tear, damage resulting from non-compliant installation, abnormal use or lack of maintenance are also excluded.
To be settled before publication.- Measurement Guarantee: the exact scope of covered cases, the time limit for claiming it, the costs remaining payable by the customer and the exclusion conditions. A guarantee whose scope is not bounded reads as unlimited.
- Product guarantee: the claim procedure — how to report a defect, what to provide (photos of the mesh, of the installed product and of the fixing, order number) and VITRECO’s response time. Until it is written, the condition on the mesh has no way of being established.
Article 14 — Provisions applicable to business customers
Articles 6, 12 and the Measurement Guarantee do not apply to business customers, unless otherwise stated in the partnership agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed, the payment period is set in accordance with article L441-10 of the French Commercial Code.
Any late payment gives rise by operation of law to late-payment penalties at the rate applied by the European Central Bank to its most recent refinancing operation plus 10 percentage points, together with a fixed recovery indemnity of €40, without prejudice to compensation for further loss.
The goods remain the property of VITRECO until the price has been paid in full.
As a member of the approved producer responsibility organisation for the PMCB stream, VITRECO applies article 7.3 of its membership contract: the share of the unit costs it bears for managing waste arising from the PMCB it places on the market is passed on to the business buyer with no possibility of rebate.
Article 15 — Complaints and consumer mediation
Any complaint may be sent to contact@vitreco.eu or by post to the registered office.
Under articles L612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer who has not obtained satisfaction from customer service may have free recourse to the consumer mediator to which VITRECO belongs.
To be settled before publication.- The time limit for responding to complaints.
Article 16 — Intellectual property
All elements of the site — texts, images, trade marks, logos, diagrams and guides — are protected. Any reproduction without prior written authorisation is prohibited.
Article 17 — Evidence and archiving
The computerised records kept by VITRECO and its payment provider are deemed to be evidence of the communications, orders and payments made. The version of the terms accepted by the customer, together with the timestamp of that acceptance, is archived with the order.
Article 18 — Amendment of the terms
VITRECO reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The applicable terms are those in force on the day of the order, the version of which is archived with it.
Article 19 — Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute and failing amicable resolution, the French courts have jurisdiction, on the conditions provided by law for consumers.
